So what then is Reformed experiential preaching? I have touched briefly on a number of its ingredients. It is preaching that: • tests genuine Christian experience by the standard of biblical truth—idealistically, realistically, and optimistically; • draws lines distinguishing between believers and unbelievers; • makes frequent and wise application of truth to life; • balances biblical, doctrinal, experiential, and practical elements; • cultivates a life of communion
